Constellation Dice: Voyager II Edition

Created by Gio Lasar Design

A new version of the sold-out Constellation Dice set from 2017, in celebration of the 45th Anniversary of the Voyagers' launch.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Adding a most wanted new full set to the rewards, Kickstarter delayed 24 hours for updates!
over 1 year ago – Fri, Dec 09, 2022 at 10:18:19 AM

We have received confirmation today that the same factory that made the Dice Odyssey sets (Sky's Edge, Purple Nebula, Outer Space) has a slot avalaible early next year for manufacturing a Blue Nebula version of this popular design, long sold out!

Since the Discovery full set has no standard numbers, this is a most welcome addition to the upcoming Kickstarter. Of course we had the cover ready (just in case) but now we still need to update the page.

Sorry for keeping you waiting!

If you would like to check the campaign page as soon as it's ready, please subscribe to the newsletter at www.giolasar.com to receive a link before launch. Hope to see you tomorrow at this time on Kickstarter!

Constellation dice: Discovery starts in 24 hours
over 1 year ago – Thu, Dec 08, 2022 at 12:42:10 AM

This is a special moment in Space History.

On December 11th, 1972 the last Apollo crew set foot on the Moon.

Exactly 50 years later, this coming Sunday, a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean will mark the completion of the first Artemis mission (named after the goddess sister to Apollo in Greek mythology) which will soon bring four astronauts, including a woman, to the Moon again.

In a few weeks, it will be also the first anniversary since the launch of the James Webb space telescope, which in just one year provided us with incredible images of great scientific - and for us stargazers, emotional - value.

We also love dice of course, and the upcoming campaign will bring some of that space magic in the palm of your hand. The Discovery full set features a selection of new and classic designs, in the same beautiful color combination from last year (a translucent starfield background, with light blue glowing paint):

  •  Constellations d4 - new design following the d6, d8, and d12 you have from previous editions
  •  Crescent d6 - from the Apollo edition set, featuring a prominent crescent Moon
  •  Hubble d8 - new design with a selection of the main Open Clusters (e.g. the Pleiades)
  •  Space Webb d10 / d100 - new design introducing galaxies to the collection
  •  Moon d12 - from the Apollo edition set, where the craters display the values
  •  Earth d20 - from the Apollo edition set, where smaller and bigger stars display the values

And, celebrating both Apollo and Artemis, both the Saturn V from the 60' and the new SLS-I.

All of these dice are numbered of course, just not with the standard numerals you will find elsewhere: the result is a collectors' set that will look like a full sky of stars in your hands.

The only remaining design from 2017 not yet available in the new color, the Eclipse d100 (which features regular numbers) might still be included in the full set - as a Stretch Goal.

If you missed the last campaign, this is also your chance to grab one of the few remaining full sets in the same color combinations as the new Discovery one.

Like last year, the campaign will run for just one week, with discounted early bird rewards on the first day, starting at this time tomorrow on Kickstarter. See you then!

Gazing at the Supermoon
almost 2 years ago – Thu, Jul 14, 2022 at 03:19:40 AM

It's been two weeks since the last update, and while we wait for all the backers to get their rewards, the James Webb space telescope sent its first pictures, allowing us to see a glimpse of very distant galaxies, too many to count, from a portion of sky just as tiny as a grain of sand at arms length.

Maybe a bit jealous, the Moon has come closer to let us see her beauty with the naked eye 🌛

We recommend to take a few minutes tonight to observe this natural marvel 🌝

If it's cloudy where you live, or you can't stay up late, come back in 4 hours and admire online the Supermoon rising above Rome!

Happy to announce that we just mailed the last batch of rewards and preorders, and we can’t wait for you all to get them!

The pre-order store will remain up for two more days, before we close for inventory on July 1st.

Having to update our invoicing software as well, we won’t ship further orders in July, except for any received before / on Thursday June 30th.

Thank you all for believing in this project and for your great support!

Are we there yet?

Shipping proceeds and we are almost done! Many backers reported receiving already their rewards in the States, not only in Europe, so everything appears to be going super smoothly.

But was your reward shipped?

Backerkit support answered that you can find this information in your survey review page update:

Please note this information is not updated in realtime, so it might look as your reward hasn't been shipped yet while it actually was. Maybe it wasn't, but if it does say "shipped", then that's confirmed.

Big thanks to the backers who posted a comment to let us (and other backers) know how far away the shipments arrived! If you are still waiting, it would be appreciated if you could take a minute and comment here as well!

Better yet, post a picture on your favorite social network or dice group, let your friends know about these little artworks, if you think they deserve a larger audience! Tag us on:
